Writing Leads To College

I just got a call today to go and see Karen in regards to my Idea Girl Consulting Business.

She is going to help me come up with a business plan and wants to see my Resume!

I’ll have to make a writer’s resume as well that shows my clips and what has been published and where.

I do most of my own stuff on my websites, and I’m just starting to send stuff out to publishers to get a feel for the market place.

I was working on creating a fan base first, because that is the bottom line for an new author who wants their books published.

It can take years to write novels, get them edited, accepted then published!

I’ve changed The Munroe Series so many times, coming up with new ideas every time I presented my work.

Now I have to make a decision and stick to it!

That’s hard for me, I’m one of those people that changes her mind like the wind.

I come up with thousands of ideas, write them down and then most of them sit there collecting dust.

I don’t know if it’s because I’m a Gemini that my attention span is short, but I tire easily of doing the same thing, so I like to change it around.

I like to keep my work interesting and fresh.

I am learning how to write better, but I find when I don’t use the Microsoft Office 2007 program, I am back to doing FRAGMENTED SENTENCES!

I wonder how long it will take me to teach myself how to write properly?

The purpose of this interview is to see if I’m a qualified writer and then they can recommend sending me to College for a degree or training in my field!

I tried taking an ENGLISH course several years ago, it was too boring and after 3 weeks, I dropped out.

I kept FALLING ASLEEP in class!

I can’t stand sitting and talking to people face to face because it seems to make me really sleepy.

Listening to someone talk for an hour, will kill me!

I hope they do send me to College and I get a Journalism degree or something, that would be cool!

The Munroe Series Is Now On Squidoo!

The Revenge Of The Atkins Book Eight

The Revenge Of The Atkins Book Eight

I worked a GRAVE YARD SHIFT! LOL

I worked all day and night to get this done and I’ve got most of it.

I’ll be posting the new scripts for the series and you can find them on Squidoo.

I’ll have to update my Index pages with about 10 websites.

I’ll also be creating about 15 more lenses and trying to finish for the new 100 Giant Squid Contest!

I’ve been up since yesterday at 11 a.m. sitting at this computer for 18 hours, so I’m beat.

Gotta get some rest, then I’ll be back at it in a few hours! :)

I will be re posting book one with the new changes to it. :)

I finally got 12 of my manuscripts organized into chapters and dialog parts.

I realized there are chapters missing because I wasn’t sure how I was going to end The Munroe Series!

I have Eleven books so far, and I will easily be able to round it off to number 12, an even number!

I’ve created websites for each book on Squidoo and will be posting the first 4 to 6 chapters of each book this week.

I think I’ll just do Chapter One for each book this week for fun.

Then people can visit the site next week to read Chapter Two!

I’ve been doing this so far today for about 12 hours, I’m exhausted!

I’m in a contest to make 100 websites by August 1st, and I still have 20 more to go!

Time is ticking away, and I wish I had a faster computer, this old clunker really slows me down!

Adam Lambert The Father Of My Virtual Child! LOL

I was posting blogs this morning on Idea Girl Consulting Word Press when I came across a funny interview with Adam Lambert from American Idol.

In this interview he mentions the fact that he wants to have children some day, if he finds the right person.

Shocking he’s not just GAY he is Bi – Curious!

So I decided to have some fun with the “I want children someday” statement.

I’ve created what is called a KIDDIE RESUME.

By using a site called MAKE ME BABIES, I put Adam Lambert’s picture and one of my sexy pics together and we came up with some cute looking kids! LOL

So now you know what I mean when I say Adam Lambert The Father of my Virtual Child!

I think I’ll make more babies later this week.

I’m kind of tired after producing two kids in one day, I need some rest!  :)

Here’s our children, Rachel and Adam Jr!

Writing A Mystery Story

writing a mystery story the idea girl says

I’ve been working on the manuscript for The Munroe Mansion and I started at the beginning this time while revising, I realized there wasn’t much dialog.

It was fun adding in some dialog with humorous antidotes!

I could make the characters sense of humor sarcastic, loving, shy or whatever I want.

The great thing about revising is that it’s never a finished product until your completely done.

So you can let your imagination run wild while your writing.

I had a basis of characters names and families, but I had not worked on the personality factor!

Sure I had them in various situations, but I didn’t clearly state who they were.

I noticed this after taking a look at the new Emily books at Coles.

I love the layout of the new books (don’t care for the black cover) but there’s a historical section, a map of the location and each character has a blurb about them.

I want that for my book too!

It’s like you see the characters of a play or a movie before acting watching the final piece!

It gave me an idea on how to make my characters more realistic, and I created a new world for myself and my readers by doing so!

After taking a look at the characters, I worked on my Mystery Story line.

Was there any suspense building in my writings?

Not enough!

So I changed that too, adding bits and pieces, sentences to titillate the suspense factor of my readers.

I think it’s like creating a work of art, you build tension as you go along.

You bring them to the point that your almost there then you back off and go back at it again a few pages later.

It will either drive your readers nuts, or they will want to keep reading to find out what happens.

It’s not easy writing a Mystery Story but being creative with it, is fun and that is all that matters!
