Dale Halaway – Chapter Sixteen – Book Review – Discovering Your Souls Purpose – The Power of the Platform – Speakers on Success – Robin Jay – Linda Randall
“They wander from job to job or start up one business after another, never quite clicking with anything.”
“The Universe is trying to show them it isn’t in alignment with their true purpose.”
The Idea Girl Says
Dale Halaway talks about the importance of being in alignment with your higher self. He gives you the keys to finding your purpose in life. If you are out of alignment, Dale says that this can lead to you hitting the wall every time and going nowhere.
Quote from the book
Negativity
Dale talks about his programs
EFT – Emotional Freedom Technique
TLC – Transformational Life Coaching System
“This negative energy blocks the flow of positive energy – your higher self – the part of you that is your power, your strength, your creativity, your wisdom – your real self!”
“Negative energy generates more negative energy either in our physical bodies or in other aspects of our physical life. Because all energy is in a constant state of motion, no one can stop it from moving. In other words, we cannot escape from our negativity. The truth is we must deal with it through acceptance and by understanding its purpose, only then can we let it go.”
“In many cases, part of our soul’s purpose actually lies in our need to, clear out this negative energy.”
“I recommend the daily practice of self-inquiry, meditation and journaling, as these processes can help to slow us down and relax into our thoughts and feelings.”
“Life really begins once our souls get their own way with us. Imagine what it would be like to no longer be affected by what others are doing or saying! This is emotional mastery, being emotionally clear, secure and stable. You are now the embodiment of our higher self. By engaging in good quality inner work and turning the spiritual discipline of consciously releasing our negative energy through healthy and empowering methods, we discover how to master these emotions.”
The Idea Girl Says
Dale Halaway really brings a key point home for me. I’m always troubled by what people say or do to me. In fact it often interferes with my work. If I get in a bad mood, I cannot write. I tend to be “too” negative if I try, so I know not to. I definitely can benefit from this chapter about negative energy. I was holding too much of it in me and it kept bringing negative things my way. For years I’ve felt helpless about this in my life. I didn’t know I could change it. I’m so thankful that Dale has shown me how to release the negativity in my life and to draw or attract positive things to me.
Now I do have another question though. What is success? If you are a writer and blog on a daily basis, how do you measure your level of success? Is it by the amount of money you make? No. Lots of writers don’t make a penny off of what they do. (that’s me in a nutshell) Do writers get a feeling of satisfaction out of what they do? The answer is yes. We write because we love doing it and it makes us feel happy and content inside. Hopefully with practice and patience we will follow our higher self and it will lead us to a path of success.
Quote from the book
Judgment
“Those who live in judgment are the ones who end up paying the price. When somebody is judging, they really have some part of themselves in judgment and probably aren’t even conscious of it.”
“Judgment creates a separation or division which keeps people from being in alignment with their higher self.”
“What most people don’t realize is that the very thing we judge in others actually becomes locked into place and strengthens.”
“We usually judge others on those things that we dislike about ourselves.”
The Idea Girl Says
I remember a saying about judgement – “When you point a finger at someone just remember that there are four fingers pointing back at you!” I used to say that to anyone that “judged” me. You can’t always judge a book by its cover either. Everyone has good and bad days, give someone the benefit of the doubt. Dale talks extensively about how judgment can affect everything in your life, even your personal life. It really does take you out of alignment with your higher self. You become “obsessed” with what the other person is doing all the time. It causes you to be annoyed and uptight and honestly it’s just a reflection of you.
Quote from the book
Imbalance
“Within us we have masculine and feminine energy, or yin/yang energy. When these two energies are not in harmony with each other, an imbalance occurs.”
“Healing our subconscious body sets us free from all our negativity and judgment and it brings us back into balance.”
The Idea Girl Says
Dale Halaway will show you how to heal several areas of your life, connect to your high self, get in alignment with the universe and find the balance that you need to become a well rounded person.
I feel alive now, I learned how to release the negativity in my life and anytime I feel bogged down about things, I can grab “The Power of the Platform – Speakers on Success” and read a chapter that will speak to my heart, soul, mind and body.

(David’s jaw drops as the elevator doors open. He grins as he gets on the elevator.)
Are you stalking me?
SADIE
(giggles)
We really have to stop meeting this way!
DAVID
(looks down at the suitcase then back up to Sadie)
Are you going on a trip? You unpack fast!
SADIE
(exasperated)
The Moving Guys made it impossible for me to get around in my apt. I have no light bulb for the kitchen. There is no light fixture in the living room and my apt is wall to wall furniture and boxes. I don’t have time to move it around! I can’t even set up my bed. I’m exhausted and I have to catch a flight at 5 a.m. in the morning.
DAVID
Where are you headed?
SADIE
To New York City.
DAVID
I’m on my way there now. My Pilot can give you a lift?
SADIE
Really? How much?
DAVID
No charge. Call your travel agent and cancel your flight and reservation. You can stay at the Plaza Hotel tonight as my guest.

I have two suites there. My Brother Michael usually stays in the other one but he’s in California at the moment. I’ll call him and let him know that you’ll be using it as a guest. How long are you planning to stay in New York City?
SADIE
Around two days. I’m going for an interview then coming back to my disaster of an apartment.

That should be fine. Don’t worry, it’s on me. I can see you’ve had a rough day. I’m going across the street for a drink while I wait for my pilot to show up. Care to join me?

I could use a drink
ext. Cafe Patio.Night
They walk down the street and around the corner and then cross at the lights. There are people out on the patio. Red chairs, small round tables – a cafe like setting. They grab a table on the patio and sit down. The waiter comes outside.
EXTREME WIDE SHOT: Waiter approaches the table
The waiter is dressed in black dress pants, a white dress shirt and a small black bow tie.
waiter
Hello Mr. Radford how are you this fine evening?
DAVID
I’m good. I’d like to introduce you to my new friend Sadie Johnson. She just moved into my building.
WAITER
(He bows and shakes her hand)
Nice to meet you Miss Johnson. It’s a nice neighborhood here, you will enjoy it. What can I get you today?
Sadie looks at David in surprise.
DAVID
(grins)
Don’t worry. He already knows what I want.
WAITER
(grins broadly)
Yes Mr Radford always orders a Coors Light.
DAVID
(smiles and looks at Sadie)
Now you know why I come here. I receive expert service.
SADIE
(grins)
I’ll have a Chocolate Monkey with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles.
WAITER
(looks pleased)
Good choice Miss Johnson.
SADIE
(Sadie flusters as she looks at David’s grinning face)
Please call me Sadie. Miss Johnson sounds too old. I don’t mean… Well you know.
DAVID
I guess I’m old fashioned. I like being called Mr. Radford.
The waiter walks away and comes back with a small crystal candle holder with a tea light in it. The waiter lights the tea light, smiles at both of them and then walks away.
SADIE
It’s already getting dark out. I can hardly keep my eyes open. I’ve been up since 4 a.m. I couldn’t sleep last night. I was stressed out about moving today.
DAVID
(smiles)
The worst part it over. It should be smooth sailing from now on.
SADIE
(laughs)
You don’t know me very well. I believe that bad luck comes in three’s and it usually lasts for a few days in a row before things get better.
DAVID
So what you’re saying is that you expect your days to be rough like this one all week?
SADIE
(alarmed)
I hope not! Today was a nightmare! I should know better. The movers were a recommendation from a female employee whom I don’t get along with. She’s my nemesis at work. My movers canceled at the last minute. A death in the family. These two guys looked like ex cons/rednecks.
Sadie stops talking as the waiter returns with their drinks.
WAITER
Will there be anything else?
DAVID
(grinning)
No thanks, that’s everything for now.
The waiter walks away. And David turns to Sadie.
I was wondering about that. I’d be worried about them breaking into your apt. Did they have your key at any time?
SADIE
(shakes her head no)
Not on your life! I didn’t trust them. For all I know they could have stole anything from me. I’ll know when I unpack. Each of my boxes are numbered. I have a master list in my purse. I do that to protect myself. Whose going to go through a hundred taped up boxes? I am tape happy! I can’t believe how they left my apt. I couldn’t even get through the front door. The bookcase fell over and blocked it.
DAVID
I would demand they come back and fix up the mess.
SADIE
(shakes her head no)
It’s my own fault. I yelled at them for making me miss my flight. I told them to hurry.
DAVID
They still have no right to leave it in such a mess.
The two of them are sitting there and it’s getting darker outside. Sadie looks up at the stars.

So do I, especially with a pretty girl. Hi. Ya, we’ll be there in a jiff.
David gets up and places a twenty dollar bill on the table under his beer bottle and waves to the waiter.
I’ll pay for our drinks.
Sadie waves goodbye to the waiter and they turn and walk back towards another building around the corner.

The elevator doors close and Sadie can see that he’s pushed the roof button and looks at him with an odd expression on her face.

SADIE
Do you work here?
DAVID
You could say that. I’ve worked here for several years now.
SADIE
(gasps and moans)
Oh No! I forgot my luggage under the table at the cafe!
David hits the fifth floor button and the elevator passes it and keeps going to the top, it won’t stop no matter how many buttons he pushes.
DAVID
Sorry It’s after hours. They lock up all the floors after hours. We’ll have go all the way to the top then press the ground floor button to go back down.

DAVID
(grins broadly at the Waiter)
Thanks! You saved us a trip.
David hands the Waiter a twenty dollar bill.
Now we have to get going. I’ll see you in a few days.
Sadie waves at the Waiter he waves back. She mouths the words thank you to him. He smiles and winks at her then turns and walks away. Sadie turns and pushes the elevator button the doors open. David walks over to the elevator and they both get on. Sadie pushes the button to the roof and the doors close and it starts to move.

Arizona is too hot for me.
DAVID
(surprised)
I would think you would like to travel where its warm. How about the tropics?
SADIE
(sheepish grin)
I’ve never traveled anywhere in my life. In fact this is my first time flying. I’m a little nervous about getting motion sickness.

David looks stumped. Suddenly the wind picks up and a bright light comes towards them. Blinding their eyes, they shield their faces as the dust flies around them and a helicopter lands. David grabs Sadie’s arm and guides her towards an open door. Her head is down, eyes are stinging form the flying dirt. She pauses for a moment and panics.

Sadie this will help when your ears pop from the difference in the air pressure.

Thanks David. Jake it’s nice to meet you. Go easy. I’ve never flown before.

We haven’t gone down this trail to get to the East End of the blue ghost tunnel, too steep for us. We come up from the bottom and follow along the reeds there to it in the winter time. Haven’t figured out an easier route in summer. Usually go over the Railway Bridge but thats dangerous in summer time.
