Betty’s Kitchen Special Occasion Chocolate Mousse Cake — Mother’s Day ✿ REcipe Video

In this video, Betty makes Special Occasion Chocolate Mousse Cake. This dessert is great for a romantic dinner or holiday dinner; it is dramatic and delicious!
Chocolate Mousse Cake Recipe:
11 ounces cream cheese, softened
2/3 cup sugar
6 eggs
1/3 cup whipping cream
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
9 ounces semisweet chocolate chips, melted
Chocolate Crust (recipe below)
Whipped Cream Topping (Instructions below)
sprinkling of cocoa powder

In a large bowl, beat together 11 ounces softened cream cheese and 2/3 cup sugar, using medium speed of an electric mixer. Add 6 eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Add 1/3 cup whipping cream, 1 tablespoon vanilla, and 9 ounces melted semisweet chocolate chips. Beat at low speed, until blended. Pour into Chocolate Crust. Bake at 375 degrees (F) for about 30 minutes, or until edges are firm, but center is still soft. Cool to room temperature. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for 8 hours or overnight.

Use a knife to loosen the pan and remove the cake from the pan. Spread Whipped Cream Topping over the top of the cake. Lightly sift cocoa powder over the top of the topping. Chocolate Crust Recipe
1/3 cup butter
2 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
1 1/3 cups fine, dry breadcrumbs
½ cup sugar

Melt 1/3 cup butter in a small, heavy pot. Add 2 ounces semisweet chocolate chips. Stir over low heat until chocolate melts. Remove from heat. Stir 1 1/3 cups fine, dry breadcrumbs and ½ cup sugar into chocolate mixture. Blend well. Press into bottom and halfway up the sides of a 9-inch springform pan. Bake at 350 degrees (F) for about 8 minutes. Let cool.
