In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Slow Cooker Cola Chuck Roast. This is a flavorful entrée that is easy to make and also easy on the budget.

3 pound chuck roast, trimmed of excess fat
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 medium onion, chopped
10.75-ounce can cream of mushroom soup
1 inner packet dry onion soup mix
12 ounces cola beverage
16 ounces sour cream

Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a 10 ½-inch skillet. Using tongs, place 3-pound chuck roast into hot oiled skillet, searing the bottom side for 2 minutes, then turning to sear the other side for another 2 minutes. Placed seared chuck roast into a slow cooker.

In a small to medium bowl, mix a 10.75-ounce can cream of mushroom soup with 1 packet dry onion soup mix. Add 1 clove minced garlic and 1 medium chopped onion, mixing well. Spread over the top and down the sides of the roast. Add 12 ounces cola beverage on top and over both sides of roast.

Cover with the lid and cook on HIGH for 4 hours. Remove roast from slow cooker and slice as desired. Add 16 ounces sour cream to liquid in slow cooker and stir or whisk until well mixed. Return sliced roast to sauce in slow cooker and cook another two hours on HIGH.

Ladle slices of roast and sauce into a nice serving dish. Serve immediately. This is a terrific “go to” main dish, since it is inexpensive and goes a long way. Enjoy! –Betty 🙂
